Hide Text Messages on iPhone from Lock Screen/Notification Center

To hide iPhone text messages:

  • Go to Settings from Lock Screen/Notification Center.
  • Tap on Notifications
  • Now tap on Messages
  • In the ALERTS section, uncheck Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners.

You can also turn off the Allow Notifications check mark. By doing this, your iPhone will not ring or vibrate when you receive a message

 

Hide Message Preview from Lock Screen

When you receive a message, a preview of its text is displayed on the lock screen. To hide these previews,

  • Enter the Settings App
  • Then tap on Notifications> Messages
  • In the Lock Screen Appearance section, tap on Shows Previews. There are three options provided in this section:
    • Always: Show text message previews at all times
    • When Unlocked (Default): Show text message previews only when your device is unlocked
    • Never: Remove message previews forever

You can simply hide the notification of a specific message set.

  • Tap on Messages
  • Then tap on the desired conversation
  • Now tap on the contact’s name at the top of the screen
  • Turn on Hide Alerts

To hide SMS on iPhone this way:

  • Go to Contacts
  • Then find the target contact and tap on it
  • Then click on Edit
  • Now click on Delete Contact
  • Then go to Settings
  • Find and tap on Messages
  • In the Message Filtering section, turn on Filter Unknown Senders

 

Hide iPhone Text Messages with Notes Apps

This method of hiding messages on the iPhone is suitable for when you want to hide only a single message. If you want to hide multiple text messages from multiple contacts, this method will not work and would actually be quite time-consuming.

 

Hide One Text Message

Enter the Messages section. Then enter the message of your target audience. Press and hold that text. Then click on Copy. Open the Notes app. Click on create a new note. Paste the message. Tap Done. Tap on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of the screen. Tap on Lock. Then choose a password for it. Once you’ve chosen a password, tap the lock icon. After that, delete the text from the Messages section.

 

Hide Multiple Messages

Enter the Messages section. Then enter the desired conversation. Take a screenshot of the texts. Sign in to Notes. Then click on the Create a new note icon. Click on the camera icon. Then select Screenshots. Now click on Add and then Done. Tap on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of the screen. Tap on Lock. Then choose a password for it. Once you’ve chosen a password, tap the lock icon. After that, delete the texts from the messages section.
